BROUGHTY Ferry's independent electrical retailer, Hosies, opened their new, larger, shop premises at 304-306 Brook Street in Febuary 2010.

Ailsa Redford, managing partner, explained: "2010 is a very exciting year for Hosies. In January we celebrated 10 years of trading in Broughty Ferry. This week we open our new shop premises, in time for what should be a rather busy year for us with two new local members of staff will be joining us. Darren Cox will be involved with our deliveries while Colin Clark will be shop based."

The 2008 Electrical retailing awards, sponsored by Sony, held in London , Ailsa Redford Managing Partner of HOSIES of Broughty Ferry scooped the prestigious award for "Best Accessories Display"

The awards aim to raise store standards, while recognising the efforts of the UK's electrical retailing industry.

Ailsa explained " I went down to London on Wednesday , to attend the awards ceremony and was absolutely delighted to recieve the award. Our store is very unique in the way that our products are displayed, we have a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with eye catching window displays. Our store has been described as an Electrical boutique. Displays are so important, and it is wonderful that all our hard work has been recognised through our trade!"
